Did you ever wonder
‘Why would God want to leave Heaven?’
Reason # 1 Love
Love is a powerful motivating force that can change any situation. It can change the outcome for humanity, for you and for me.
Love is an action! It isn’t a feeling or a nature. Love is felt when a kind loving action is done. No words need to be spoken for love to be felt. This is what God did for us. This is ‘agape love’. This love is sacrificial.
God’s Love for Us !
John 3:16
For God so loved and dearly prized the world that He gave up His only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in ( trusts in, clings to, relies on ) Him shall not perish ( come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting ) life.
God’s love for the world is so great that our minds can’t fully comprehend it. He, God the Father, loves us so much, that He gave His only Son, to die on a cross, to pay the price of our sin. He did it so that He could be with us in Heaven for eternity. Our fellowship with Him would be restored. Adam’s sin had separated us from a Holy God.
Before we were born, God loved us and had a plan to give us hope and a great future. We were created to have fellowship with God but sin entered the world. The Bible states, that by one man, Adam, sin had entered the world and death came through sin, and so sin spread to all because all have sinned. Now we were separated from a Holy God, because a Holy God cannot look upon sin. A sacrifice had to be made to restore mankind back to God. So God gave! He gave His son as a sacrifice for sin. This is love.
How did God give?
God the Father, allowed God the Son, to qcome to earth, lay down His divine power and attributes and take on human flesh. Jesus, suffered and died on a cross, in our place for the sin that had come upon His creation. God gave His Son for the world that was now condemned under sin, but the promise of everlasting life, is for whosoever believes.
Whoever believes!
God gave His Son for ‘whosoever believes’. It makes no difference to God who we are or what we’ve done. Jesus’s sacrifice was for everyone, but this is a conditional promise. The condition is that we believe.
What do we have to believe?
We have to believe:
That God, the Son, came to earth as a human. He emptied Himself of His divine power and attributes. This is called ‘the kenosis of Christ.’
That He was born of a virgin, Mary.
That He suffered and died on a cross for our sin.
That He rose from the dead on the third day.
That He now sits at the right hand of God, the Father, making intercession for us. He prays for us.
We have to believe all the above and then…..that makes us a ” whosoever “.
Wow, a whosoever gets to spend eternity in Heaven for ever with God and loved ones.
Gain Everlasting Life!
Did you ever wonder how that is possible when we know that people die? They leave us in this life we are living on earth.
Death is not ‘annihilation’ but ‘separation’ of the physical body from the soul and spirit. The human being is made up of three parts; body, soul and spirit. We are a trichotomy. The mortal outer man; the body is flesh, bones and blood. I call it our ‘earth suit’. We need this earth suit to be able to live on planet earth. When we die, it’s like unzipping our suit and leaving it behind. We don’t need it any longer, our time on earth is done. Our real self, our immortal being is our soul and spirit, they go immediately to Heaven. The condition is that we are a believer in Jesus.
This is Everlasting life…..our spirit and soul living in God’s presence, in new glorified bodies. Seeing our loved ones again that went to Heaven before us. No more pain and suffering. What a glorious day that will be. To see Jesus as He stretches out His arm to show us the multitudes that are there because we believed and told others of His great love for us.
To Perish!
To perish is to not believe in Jesus. You are then separated spiritually from God. Your body has died and spiritually you are separated from a Holy God. Your soul and spirit will live eternally, but not with God in Heaven. You will live forever in a place prepared for unbelievers, Hell.
Dear ones, I pray you will believe and tell others of God’s great love for us. Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.
Bless you. Pastor Barbara. 36/23
