Who We Are In Christ

Part 4

We Have  A New Identity!

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ ( the Messiah) he is a new creation ( a new creature altogether); the old [ previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away.  Behold , the fresh and new has come! (AMP)

Have You Ever Wanted A New Identity?

I think that most of us have wanted that. We may have made some choices in the past that we are sorry for now, or life and circumstances have given us a difficult life.

With God all things are possible. God showed His great love for us when He gave His only Son to be sacrificed for us.We were cleansed of our inherent sin. When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, the scripture tells us that we are a new creation or creature. The old us is gone. We are new in our morals and spirituality. The Holy Spirit has come to indwell us. We are now positionally, in right standing before God. We are now able to hear and sense the Holy Spirits’ presence.

There is a problem!

I need to explain that this new creation that God says we are, is only positionally before Him. Because of the cleansing we have received. God now sees us cleansed by the blood of Jesus.  Experientially we have all the same thinking, behavior and attitudes that we had before receiving Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

As a new creation/creature  we now have the Holy Spirit to guide and lead us. He will bring conviction if we are doing something wrong before God or other people. He will give us understanding and revelation of the word of God. Before we received Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we didn’t know when we were doing wrong before God.

We of course have been given freewill. We can obey what the Holy Spirit is wanting us to do; or do what our own will wants us to do. Experientially there must be a change in our behavior.

The Bible states that we have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16 ). Have you ever noticed that a new believer’s thinking, actions and attitudes are exactly the same as before salvation.

We are given instructions as believers that will move us from being in right standing positionally to experientially.

Romans 13: 14

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

We are to ‘ Put on Christ and Die to Self’.  To put on Christ is to think, act and behave as Jesus would. To die to self is to stop behaving in our old carnal nature.

I have a series of teaching called ‘Put on Christ’, if you would like more understanding.

We are a three part being…..body, soul and spirit.

The Body

The body is our ‘earth suit’. I call it that because it enables us to live on earth in this atmosphere. When our time on earth is done, it is only our body that dies. It is no longer needed.

Our Soul

Our soul is the seat of our mind, will, emotions and imagination.  This is where the change can happen.

Romans 12:2

And do not be conformed to this world, but be tranformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

We are to renew our mind according to the Word of God, which is the will of God. As we renew our mind, great and wonderful things happen. We are now experientially experiencing our new identity. Our behavior, attitudes, thoughts, and fruit bearing are now lining up with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Spirit

Our spirit is where the Holy Spirit dwells in our body. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the God head. He is also called God.

Acts 1:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witness in Jerusalem,  and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

We can have a new identity.  There is a cost. It is so worth whatever it takes for us to get into position to be used of the Lord.

I’m going to close with a word for you.  To the many ministry friends reading this across the world.

God sees you all over the world, He sees your laboring for the kingdom of God. He hears your prayers. He has a fresh anointing for you. Press in and be still before Him. He will guide and lead into what He has for you. You have not been forgotten.

We are a large army moving across the earth. We are one in the Spirit, one in our desires for souls to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

You are loved and highly favored of the Lord. Be refreshed in the Lord.

Bless you dear ones. With love and blessings

Who We Are In  Christ!

Part 3

We Are Complete In Jesus!

Colossians 2:10

And In Him you have been made complete [achieving spiritual stature through Christ], and He is the head over all rule and authority [of every angelic and earthly power]. (AMP)

Have you ever desired to be complete?

We can!!!!!  We are!!!!! Hallelujah!!!!!

In Jesus we have been made complete. We have achieved spiritual stature in Him by believing and receiving Him as our Savior and Lord. We have moved from eternal separation from God to eternal life in Heaven with the Lord. By Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross, He paid the price for our sin. By His shed blood we have been cleansed from our sin. Our spiritual stature has been made complete.

Now…. the work begins!

We must grow to full stature.

What is ‘full stature ‘?

Full stature in this context is…..learning and increasing in knowledge. Also the quality of your character you have developed as a result of your achievements, experiences and personal growth. A person of stature is one who has engaged the ‘law of the Spirit of life’ in Christ Jesus.

How can we develop our stature?

This begins with understanding God’s will for your life. When you discern the plan of God for your life, you will press in and learn what He wants for your life. As you study the Word of God, you will die to self (our own way of thinking and behaving) and put on Christ. Your thinking and behavior will become Christ-like. You will develop His character, this is the ‘Fruit of the Spirit’. You will behave and respond as Jesus would in all circumstances.

This is a process…..precept upon precept. Study to show yourself a workman rightly able to divide the Word of God.

Remember…you are complete in Jesus.

You have salvation, you’re on your way to Heaven to join the saints who have gone before you.

Jesus tells us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that He has commanded us to do. And remember,  I am with you always,  to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Bless you dear ones as you grow in Godly stature.  Press in to what God has for you. Corinthians 2:9 tells us that ‘no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has in store for those that love Him’.

Let the seeds of greatness in you be released in Jesus name.

We love you and are praying for you.

Your servants in Christ.

Who We Are In Christ!

Part 2

     You Are Christ’s Friend!

John 15:15

I do not call you servants any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have revealed to you everything that I have heard from My Father.

Think about it…..Jesus calls us His friends. He doesn’t tell us what to do. He explains why things are done. A servant is told what to do. He doesn’t tell us what to do. We have freewill, we decide. All that Jesus had heard from His Father, He has made it known to us.

Why….. because friends share with each other. They will lay down their life for a friend.

John 15:13

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Jesus laid down His life for us. This is the greatest love you will ever experience in your life. There is nothing that can change this love He has for us. He did this while we were still sinners. He didn’t judge us. Jesus knew when He laid aside His divine power that He needed to be fully human. He did this to experience what we as humans experience. He humbled Himself for you and I.

Jesus understands everything we could ever go through.  He is our Friend. This Friend laid down His life because of love. Love for the Father and for us.

Jesus was born as a baby in Bethlehem, He grew in stature, and ministered to people. He knew He had come to lay down His life for you and me; His friends.

Our Friend Jesus, paid the price that we couldn’t. Sin had separated us from a Holy God. A price had to be paid. Jesus became the sacrificial lamb. A blood sacrifice was required for the cleansing of our sin. We needed to be restored to  a Holy God.

This is the greatest love you will ever experience. This is a friend. Jesus is the greatest Friend you will ever have.

Do you believe you are a sinner who is in need of a Savior.

If yes, repent of your sin. Receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord.

Start to learn about Jesus and what He has done for you. He is your Friend. A Friend who has forgiven your sins and given you an eternity in Heaven.

Can you give Him your life?

You Are never alone, you have a Friend, His name is Jesus, the Christ.

Talk to Him. He’s always listening. He is interceding for you, before the Father, right now.

Bless you dear one’s.  There is nothing that compares to a life that has received Jesus as Savior, Lord and Friend.

Bless you. Pastor Barbara and Stanley

    Who We Are In Christ!

Part 1

          You Are God’s Child!

John 1:12

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, to those who believe in His name.

How wonderful to belong. To be God’s child. We have earthly parents, which in some cases our parents have been caring and protective.  In some children’s lives they have been abused, neglected and abandoned by their earthly parents.

Father God is not your earthly father. Father God loves you so much that He gave His only Son, Jesus, to pay the price for your sin. The Bible tells us that, while we were sinners, Christ died for us. ( Romans 5:8 ) There is nothing you can do that God would stop loving you. Nothing!

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.

God has a wonderful future planned for you. Becoming His child is how we can access His plan.

Believe and receive Jesus today. Today is the day to change your destiny.  Become His child today!

Have you received Jesus as your Savior and Lord?

To receive Him ; you need to believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sin. Believe that you are a sinner. Ask Jesus  to be your Savior and Lord.  Ask Him to forgive your sin. Make Jesus your Savior and Lord.

You will then be God’s child.

Welcome child of God into the

family of God.

Bless you in your new life. It’s going to be the best ride you have ever been on.

In the following teachings we will look at, who we are in Christ. Who God says we are is who we are. It is not what the world says we are.

Blessings dear ones. We pray for you.

Stand strong in who you are. You are God’s  child. Remember God is on your side and He is fighting for you.

Blessings

Pastor Barbara and Stanley.

1/24 Who we are in Christ.

The Seven Spirits of God

We have been studying the Person of the Holy Spirit. He is God, the third Person of the Trinity.

The seven spirit’s of the Holy Spirit refers to how He manifests and expresses Himself to us according to what is needed in our lives.

He will operate in different ways to meet different needs in our everyday lives. He, the Holy Spirit, is always present with us. When we believe and receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we receive the Holy Spirit to reside with us.

He manifests in different ways according to what we need in our lives. He is:

1. The Spirit of Grace

2. The Spirit of Glory

3. The Spirit of Life

4. The Spirit of Truth

5. The Spirit of Supplication

6. The Spirit of Adoption

7. The Spirit of Holiness

1. The Spirit of Grace

Hebrews 10:29 ……the Holy Spirit Who imparts grace ( the unmerited favor and blessing of God.)

We need to welcome and invite the Holy Spirit to invade our lives with His power. Receive the Spirit of Grace into your life for His purpose and He will help you live a Holy life. Also to accomplish the will of God for your life.

Invite Him into your life daily. This will let Him know that you need Him and that you believe and give Him control of your life.

You will then be able to say as Paul did, ‘It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me, and the life I live in the body I live by faith in ( by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.’ It would have frustrated the grace of God if Paul had tried to live on his own strength. He had learned to live by the power of Christ, which is the Holy Spirit.

This is where dying to self and putting on Christ comes into play.  Developing the Fruit of the Spirit will help us to give everything over to the Lord. The Holy Spirit will then have free reign to lead us into His plan and purpose for our lives. And then we can impart and impact a lost and dying people.

Grace is the power of Christ which is the Holy Spirit!

2. The Spirit of Glory

1 Peter 4:14…..because the Spirit of Glory, the Spirit of God, is resting on you.

Peter states here that the Spirit of Glory rests on us when we are reproached for the name of Christ. God gives us an extra measure of His Spirit to  counterbalance the attack.

The glory of God is the revelation and manifestation of all that He has and is. When the glory comes upon us, His excellent character and goodness begin to manifest in us.

Welcome the Spirit of Glory in your life and begin to see the glory of God rise up upon you.

Excellent character and goodness in us  will manifest the Spirit of Glory in our lives!

Dear Ones,

I will close with this for today. Seek God for revelation in your life. May the world only see, Christ in you. May you minister by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. His power working through a prepared vessel; telling the world about our precious Savior. Taking back everything the devil has stolen.

We will be praying for you as you minister; salvations, healings and deliverances. We will pray for you to have good health and finances to meet your needs.

The Lord says, NOTHING is too difficult for me!

May the glory of the Lord, the Holy Spirit, rest on you and give you peace. Bless you abundantly.

In His Service

      The Holy Spirit

Part 5

The Anointing of the Holy Spirit!

What is the Anointing?

The anointing is the manifested presence of the Holy Spirit operating to accomplish a God given purpose in your church, your community, your ministry, and your life.

GOD Needs You!

God wants to work through you to minister to the lost and the hurting. Without the anointing of the Holy Spirit, there is no power from God operating in your life. The Holy Spirit knows what is needed in every situation.  He is the power to accomplish what is needed. He will guide and give you what is needed for each person you minister to. It could be a word of knowledge, a word of wisdom, a gift of healing, discerning of spirits, or the gift of a miracle.

Are You Available?

The cost is great! It will cost you every thing. Everything you are in yourself. When we are full of ourself we cannot hear from the Holy Spirit or obey Him. We do what we think or someone has told us to do. Or, we may hear from the Holy Spirit but can we obey Him?

God Pleaser or People Pleaser?

Are we concerned with what people think or what God has told us to do. The choice is always ours. Ministry is dying to self  and putting on Christ. It is  a love so deep for God that there is nothing that compares or touches our soul. We live and breathe to be pleasing to the Lord. Intimacy with Jesus is a love and thankfulness for what He has done for us.

What Is Dying to Self?

If you don’t  understand dying to self, my teaching is available on ‘Putting on Christ. ‘

Galatians 5: 19-21. These scriptures describe our human or fleshly actions.  We are  not to do them, that is what dying to self means. We are to operate in the Fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5: 22-23. This is the character of Christ. This is His behavior.  Study it and behave in it. This is Putting on Christ.

It Is Worth It!

It is so worth it. The cost is great, but as you walk in His anointing and see what He is doing you will be in awe. This is truly Heaven on earth. God touching  lives and changing them. Souls being rescued from Satan’s grip. Souls being saved and delivered. Souls being healed from past wounds. Forgiveness given, when they had said, I will never forgive.

Taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the one that takes refuge in Him.

Dear friends, I beseech you to consider what God is calling each one of you to do. Surrender your plans for His plans. Move and operate in His anointing and see Him move mightily on your behalf.

Bless you richly as you move in your call and His anointing.

Pastor Barbara                                                 5/24

   The Holy Spirit

Part 4

The Holy Spirit Comes When Jesus Leaves!

The Holy Spirit was sent by the Father and the Son to take the place of Jesus among men.

John 16: 7-15 amplified version

7: But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter,  Advocate, Intercessor) will not come to you; but if I go I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you (to be in close fellowship with you).

8: And He, when He comes, will convict the world about (the guilt of ) sin (and  the need for a Savior), and about righteousness, and about judgement

9. about sin (and the true nature of it), because they do not believe in Me (and My message)

10: about righteousness (personal integrity and godly character), because I am going to My Father and you will no longer see Me;

11: about judgement (the certainty of it), because the ruler of this world (Satan) has been judged and condemned.

12: I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear (to hear) them now.

13: But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the  truth (full and complete truth). For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears (from the Father-the message regarding the Son), and He will disclose to you what is to come (in the future).

14: He will glorify and honor Me, because He (the Holy Spirit) will take from what is Mine and will disclose it to you.

15: All things that the Father has are Mine. Because of this, I said that He (the Holy Spirit) will take from what is Mine and will reveal to you.

16: A little while, and you will no longer see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me.

The Holy Spirit is Sent To Us!

We see in this scripture, that God, the Father and God, the Son, sent the Holy Spirit to be with mankind when Jesus ascended into Heaven.

We learn in John 14 that Jesus responded to the anxiety of the disciples. He tells them ‘ Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in Me.’ Jesus assures them that He is not abandoning them. But that He is returning to His Father.

Jesus Sends the Holy Spirit!

Jesus sent our Advocate, the Holy Spirit, who goes out from the Father. He wanted us to be comforted by the Holy Spirit our Comforter.

John 14:26

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you.

The Holy Spirit is God!

The Holy Spirit, the third Person of the God head, was sent to mankind to comfort, give guidance, teach us, and convict us of our sinful nature.

Conviction is Necessary!

Without conviction of our sin, mankind has no need for a Savior. They think they are okay. They don’t believe there is a place called Hell.

Paul tells us in Romans 7:19-25

‘For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do, I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. ‘

If sin is living in us, then we of our own freewill, are doing what God calls sin. Check yourself the next time you behave or speak in an unseemly way. It makes no difference who did something or said something that upset us. If we are rude or harsh, it is sin in us that causes us to respond in a wrong way.

The Holy Spirit came to convict us of sin. We must repent, die to self and put on Christ like behavior.  My series ‘ Put On Christ’ teaches this.

The Godhead Gave!

The Father loved us so much He gave His only Son to pay the price for our sin and gave us eternal life

The Son gave His Life for our sin. He paid the price.

The Holy Spirit came and comforts us. He brings conviction of our sin and our need for a Savior.

The Anointing of the Holy Spirit!

This brings us to the importance of the anointing.

The anointing is the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit operating to accomplish a God-given purpose in the church, the community, the home, and the person.

Without the anointing, ministry and teaching, have no effect. The Holy Spirit must be the instructor in all we do for our Lord. He is the dunamis, the power. We are nothing in ourselves.

Part 5 of this series will be about the Anointing.

I pray the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth. Listen for His guidance and instructions. Our part is to hear and obey what He is speaking to us.

Bless you in His name.

    The Holy Spirit

Part 3

The Personality of the Holy Spirit

It is very important that we believe in the divinity of the Holy Spirit, and also His personality. When we learn who He is, we can give Him the honor and respect that we give God, the Father.

The Holy Spirit is not a mere power that we use. He is a Person, the third Person of the Trinity. He is infinitely wise, holy, just and gracious. The Holy Spirit seeks to get ahold of us and use us.

We must become acquainted with Him as a person and not merely as an influence or power.
